Join us May 11/12: with Megan Marshman our Mothers Day Celebration.
We all know that this is a line right? Who can say with honesty that they have the one Big Happy.. family , community, work environment, or even simple relationships? Matt Wright did a great job last week talking about how we need to lean into God and have Him work on our hearts and transform our minds to be conformed to Christs image (Romans 12:1,2). So that we know we have done all we could to live as God intended (Romans 12:18) to heal the past and move forward with our relationships.
As Followers of Christ we have a specific command from Jesus to do this very thing. Hours before His betrayal, arrest, torture and execution Jesus said this to His disciples, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." Why would He care about how we treated each other? Why was loving each other so important to the Creator? He followed up that command with the answer, "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13) Does this presume that that if we don't show love to one another people will not know that we are His disciples?
If your heart is to please God, of course you want to do everything you can to love one another, especially those in your church family.
For the next 6 weeks, we will hear more from Gods Word on how to navigate through the good and the bad with our family and other relationships. Join us in Section 207 at 9:00 Sunday mornings.
