Don't worry bout it!
I'm an Irishman who married into an Italian family, my nephew is Geno Antonio Pagano, that says it all! Trips to St. Louis were the best, we would try to set an agenda and they were always, "Don't worry bout it". Where are we staying?, "Don't worry bout it!". When's dinner?, "Don't worry bout it!". Should we bring anything?, "Don't worry bout it!". After many trips I began to have faith that all things would be fine and was content to to not "worry bout it".
As a follower of Christ it has taken me quite a long time to trust the words of Jesus when I am worried about what I will eat, drink or wear and He says,"Don't worry bout it" or, as translated in the ancient Greek, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on" (Matthew 6:25).
There are so many times that I worry about the future, "Will I get that promotion?", "Will my kids turn out ok?", "Will our country be one that will be safe for my kids?", "Will the Bears ever win another Super Bowl?". Again, He says,"Don't worry bout it" or, as translated in the Greek, "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34).
I have seen God be faithful in my life. Things that I worried about in the past have either turned out okay or I have become content to trust Him when Jesus says about our Father to: "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
God bless you as you continue on your journey to trust our Father.
